LOBOS DE ARGA/Game of Werewolves/Attack of the Werewolves (2011) Directed by Juan Martinez Moreno,

I honestly didn't have high expectations for this Spanish horror comedy and only bought it as it was just 1p on Amazon. Surprise, surprise! it turns out to be a real winner. A not too successful author returns to his ancestral home in Galacia looking for inspiration and finds more than he bargained for - especially as the local yokels seem very pleased to see him!  The director handles both the comedy and the horror with aplomb. Not a masterpiece but a film which knows exactly what it is doing and delivers by the bucket load.

Well Ernest I have invested in the more expensive copy - £0.30! and am awaiting delivery. Though not a fan of subtitles I will give it a try at this price. Comments will follow!

Well done, Keith. Personally I prefer subtitles to dubbing....Cocteau, Franju, Renoir, Bergman, Kurosawa...Nobody would dare dub them.

Well Ernest I eventually got around to watching this, with some trepidation!
After overcoming the sub titles, to which I became accustomed to after about half an hour, I have to admit that I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment and comments regarding this film. Good acting and script (to me surprising for a Spanish film) quite good special effects & make up, gory humour well handled. Shocks & laughs abounded once it got going. Best £0.30 I have spent on a DVD.
Guess I will now have to re-visit "Seven Samurai" ......
